Lemon Angel Project レモン エンジェル プロジェクト
Lemon Angel Project is an Anime about a pop group who bases themselves on the actual Live Action band of the 80's Lemon Angel, three of the characters in the group have the exact same names as the three original members of Lemon Angel. To be honest i myself, knew a long time ago that this 2006 Anime series was loosely based on Lemon Angel of the 1980's but nobody believed me, well at least now you finally know for sure.
The series is set in 2017...and music is more advanced, ect. It is stated that a previous band by the name of Lemon Angel had made it big but only performed in large flat screens that served as ad spaced in the city, and after while the band disappeared leaving no trace.
Characters:
Tomo Minaguchi
Tomo is the main character of the series, and her name is most likely a reference to the previous Tomo for the original Lemon Angel. As you can clearly see they both take a liking to bread.

. Other characters in the series include Saya Yuki, Erika Campell , Miru Nagisa, Fuyimi Sakakibara and Miki Suwa.
Alright let's get down to business... the characters in Lemon Angel Project are completely different... so why give them the same names as the previous members of Lemon Angel, also to note Tomo in Lemon Angel Project is best friends with Saya & Erika, in the original it was Tomo, Erika & Miki. But then again the band in this Anime series are not the original Lemon Angel, they formed themselves together and made you could say a more or less tribute band. Isn't it funny how one of the members actually resembles the original Tomo with the red hair & ponytails. None of the music references the original, you could say the 80's music was outdated... but people can always remaster music.
If someone in japan should have brought back the original Lemon Angel at that time, instead of making something new... it was always a 3 group girl-band, and was never bigger than that. The orignal Lemon Angel of the 80's are 100 percent better, although that series is more adult related in the Anime version.
So what do i think of Lemon Angel Project? I think i'll pass on the series it seems boring, i watched a few episodes and they were just talking about things that are not interesting to say the least, although the music is quite catchy, i personally will stick with Midnight Lemon Angel, because it's a classic and it doesn't bore the shit out of me.
